Slovenia 2010 HG - 3D test 01

eg: stopmotion, new-york, street
Just a quickie - I've some more 3D footage so will probably do a short film at the weekend if the weather isn't great. The trick is to cross your eyes and look at the middle of the 3 images you'll see. Blocking left and right images with your hands and looking through the gap helps a lot. Don't sit too close to the screen and keep your eyes level. The effect here is a bit tricky to get because the distance between left and right camera objectives was a little large for the distance to the foreground (pilot). What you actually end up seeing is a tiny pilot sitting right between your hands instead of a few metres away which your brain would expect...

And yes that isn't a great take off. Getting sloppy, which the C2 won't forgive like the Sport 2 does. Video is good for that.

I need to work on my eye crossing technique for sure. It would appear for a second or two and then disappear. At the beginning you can just about make the shadow the the guy who did a fly-by of launch!

Wow. It took me about 30 secs to get it to work, but holding up fingers on each hand to block an image (close one eye, use two fingers on one hand to block image on that side, then close other eye, use other hand to block image). After 3 or 4 secs crossing eyes the images merged. After that they stayed merged with no effort at all. Amazing to see it all in 3D. Well done John!!!

I have difficulty with the cross-eyed technique but can do the converging eyes easily. So with this video I get three 3D images alongside one another. Still a stunning effect.

Fun video. It'd be a nice way to video birds flying near one's glider, and such.
